"Quirky Birds" in WOOL, Block of the Month by Pink Possum

"Olliver" is the first block of TEN blocks in my very first Block of the Month Programme.

Every month, for ten months, a kit will be sent to you containing all the wool, fabrics, trim, wool applique and embellishment threads you need to complete your block. I have enjoyed sourcing some unusual and hard to find threads and trims to make this project really interesting.

The bugs in the final blocks are mostly NZ native species (with a twist), and all of the wool in your kits is hand dyed here at Pink Possum, using a mix of new wool fabric and recycled NZ vintage blankets. The variation in weights and texture of the wool adds a lot of interest.

All of the embellishment stitches are referenced to Sue Spargo's "Creative Stitching" Book. You'll need to purchase some specific embroidery needles and applique pins, but everything else is supplied.

"Olliver" is 12" x 12" finished size and the completed quilt  measures approx 34" x 38".
