Cubie-Pincushion pattern

A useful desktop pincushion with pockets for pens and notions, thread holders and needle keep.

I’m always carting around pincushions, needle books, and an assortment of notions, threads and pens from the worktable to the machine and back again, dropping a few on the way and forgetting other items.

With the cubie-pincushion, I designed it to carry notions in pockets on three sides, spools and bobbins of thread on elastic thread holders on the other side, and added a wool needle-keep on the top so I can put my needles there instead of them becoming buried in the pincushion.

It’s small enough to cart around everywhere, including to classes, and will keep everything together.

They’re easy to make and you’ll probably want to make a couple for your friends.
